This is just what I had on hand that I could consolidate into a visual. I know many of you love your Mehr, Smoked Purple, Cyber, Girl About Town and more. Note: This is by no means an exhaustive list.
It can be a little jarring on fairer skin tones, but if you like it, rock it. – My NC50 (Sri Lankan) friend absolutely adores this colour on her skin. – Looks amazing on everyone and their mom. You can build up the intensity of this lipstick and it looks different (but good) on everyone’s skin tone. – A great shade if you’re trying to delve into plummier colours but are more comfortable in more natural shades. It looks great however on fair East Asian women and both fair and dark black women. – This is one of those colours that I don’t think is the best for those with yellow undertones.
– A surprisingly wearable Barbie Pink lip colour for all WOC. It also has the best, most comfortable finish. – A perfect colour for those having trouble trying to find a salmon/coral that looks nice on darker or yellow undertoned skin. – Every time I see this colour on fairer East Asian women I die over how perfect it looks. – Amazing on darker black women and I quite like it on those with yellow undertones as well. If you need to buy a lipstick for your mom this is your best bet.(satin) This should look good on NC35-NC45 skin tones as ‘Kylie Jenner’ option and on deeper skin tones as a nude. I think it’s a good everyday colour to have and I like it on myself, but I’ve never gotten compliments on it, so take from that what you will. – A very popular colour among South Asians which my NC40/42 friend loves. But you’ll have to like the amount of pink.
This would make a nice nude on fairer Asian, Black and South Asian skin. – Too pink for those with strong yellow undertones and too light for many darker black women. It’s a good basic to have but it’s boring and you could probably get the job done with a Rimmel lipstick, especially because of the ‘sheer’ finish. – A more brown toned nude which will work well for most WOC as a work appropriate lipstick. When I refer to ‘fairer Asian women’ I’m thinking of those with complexions like Korean pop stars. Macys has the latest fashion brands on Womens and Mens Clothing, Accessories, Jewelry, Beauty, Shoes and Home. When I refer to ‘strong yellow undertones’ I’m mentally picturing South Asians with complexions like my own, Latinas, and darker Asian women (Filipinas/Vietnamese). They were an industry leader in creating products that worked for women of all different colouring and still have the largest lipstick range of any brand I believe.
Regardless of the other selection of lipsticks other brands carry MAC has a special place in many of our hearts.
